Our Pharmacists have registered their injection training with the College are now permitted to administer vaccines to any patient five years of age or older for 13 vaccine preventable diseases in addition to Flu and Covid-19 vaccines.
As of July 1, 2023, approved regulatory amendments to O. Reg 202/94 (General) of the Pharmacy Act, 1991 will authorize Ontario’s Part A pharmacists, registered pharmacy students and interns to administer substances listed in the regulations by injection and inhalation for purposes other than patient demonstration and education.
This will benefit patients being treated for conditions including osteoporosis, diabetes, or rheumatoid arthritis who may have difficulties with self-injection or who fear needles.

Our pharmacist performs a patient specific assessment to determine that the therapy is safe and appropriate by evaluating the risks and benefits, considering the patient’s health status and unique circumstances.
Pharmacist may renew a prescription if the medication to be continued is for the purpose of continuity of care.
Pharmacist can only renew a quantity of the drug that does not exceed the lesser of:
Naloxone rapidly reverses the symptoms of an opioid overdose.
Naloxone is considered safe for everyone, unless there is a reason to believe a person has an allergy to naloxone.
If you are not sure what caused someone to become unconscious, giving naloxone is not likely to cause further harm.
If a person has been using opioids, naloxone may put them into withdrawal. While withdrawal is uncomfortable, it is usually not life threatening.
